OMC’s LED Link-Lights present several advantages over traditional Fluorescent tube
technology:
• Robust
- Fluorescent tubes are notoriously brittle. How many times have we head the stories
of children playing with a ball and at the slightest touch from the ball the tube
breaks, showering the children with white powder and shards of glass.
• No Toxic Chemicals
- As mentioned above, if a fluorescent tube breaks a fine white powder is released.
This powder contains chemicals that are extremely hazardous to health and to the
environment. OMC’s LED Link-Lights do not released these sorts of chemicals if they
are broken.
• Longer Life
- Fluorescent tubes of a similar size to Link Lights only have an expected lifetime
of 10,000-15,000 hours. LED Link-Lights have an extremely long life expectancy of
up to 50,000 hours.
• No Colour Change/Fade
- As Fluorescent tubes age, the colour and quality of light that they exhibit
degrades. If you look at a new tube the colour is usually a bight white, but older
tubes are a dull shade of yellow. This does not happen with LED technology.
• No Special Disposal Costs
- Due to the hazardous nature of Fluorescent tubes and their potential danger
to health and the environment, special costs have to be undertaken to dispose of
them safely. There are no such costs incurred when disposing of OMC’s Link Lights.
